This rare houseplant is a hybrid Bird's Nest form of Sansevieria is native to desert environments of Africa, making them easy plants for indoors and one of the best houseplants for beginners. With its central deep green stripe, variegated silver-green edges and small/compact nature, the Snake Plant Whitney is a great contrasting plant for a lightly colored room, making a statement!
Being that it's from a desert environment, it thrives in average to low humidity, warm temperatures, drier soil, medium to bright light and will grow up to a foot tall indoors. This makes them great indoor shade plants/low light plants for office and home spaces! Their compact nature allows them to be used as desk plants as well!
Plant Care Tips
Sunlight
Tolerates low sunlight or fluorescent light, but will thrive in medium, indirect light. Direct, bright sunlight should be avoided.
Maintenance
Water when top two inches of soil are dry. Water thoroughly.
Temperature
Does well at room temperature between 60°F - 77°F. Cold temperatures should be avoided.
Humidity
Prefers higher levels of humidity, around 75% or above.
